Admittedly.....

I'm a half asser....

I grow tired of doing things. I start at one end of my kitchen counter with gusto, but by the time I get to the other end, I don't move things any longer, I just sorta clean around them.... I wash the clothes, then fold them, but most of the time they just sit in the basket until I need the darn thing, then I finally put them away... Oh and dusting... yeah...... I go as long as I can dusting around the nick nacks, and don't even ask about my blinds, luckily not too many people are in the house at the time when the sun hits them just right and you can see the layer of dust.... Don't get me wrong, my house is clean, just half ass clean....

  1. Half ass clean is better than full ass messy, which would explain the state of my house most of the time. My kitchen frustrates me. No matter how much I try, the sink is always full of dirty dishes. It saps my energy quickly.

  2. lol - you've got a good point LB!! Our dishwasher just took a dive, so I'm hand washing dishes. I don't like dishes sitting out, so luckily they get washed and put away pretty quickly. Nice thing is we always have silverware....

  3. It's not "half-ass clean" at my house. It's lived in...it's comfortable. You can sit on my furniture without being afraid of breaking anything...but watch out for pointy toys! I don't have a dishwasher, but hubby does dishes since I cook dinner (and he stays on top of them, so my counters are usually clear!). I don't have "coffee table books" because my 2 yr. old likes to scribble...but I do have a basket of broken crayons! I like lived-in and comfortable...it means I can say "NO DON'T TOUCH THAT" less!

  4. I have pretty much decided that "half-ass" is all my house will be until either the kids are a bit older or gone. Cleaning & recleaning the same things over & over again gets so old.

  5. the kid clutter is gone, it's now only in their rooms, and my kids are at the age, 9 & 10, that I can have what I have deemed a "grown up" house. I love my house, i love the way it has come together over the past year or two as we've transformed the "kid play room" to the "living room" it was intended to be... it was much easier to clean up the kid clutter then to keep the dark wood dust free...
